Author Richard Florida has some bold predictions for how recession will reshape America -- and its entrepreneurial landscape. Florida predicts a boom in geographically diverse mega-regions and a decline in cities built on manufacturing or housing. Suburbs, too, will suffer because denser populations are more efficient at "generating and transporting ideas." Although the shakeout may be painful, he writes, "Americans have always looked forward, not back, and surprised the world with our resilience."
