Fifteen newly National Board Certified Teachers in Washington state say the process was rewarding, improved their teaching and helped them reach their ultimate goal of improving student learning. "As a NBCT, I believe the students have perhaps benefited the most from my experience," said Brenda Aston, a new NBCT in the Peninsula school district. "I see myself as a more skilled and confident facilitator of student learning. I am more intentional about what I do with regard to student learning, and my students are learning more as a result. It was a hugely challenging and worthwhile process to go through."
