When she was in fourth grade, Gabrielle Wilson didn't want her new classmate Sierra Locklear to feel left out because she relies on sign language, so Gabrielle learned sign language herself with the help of Sierra's interpreter. For her efforts, Gabrielle was among about a dozen students honored by her Charlotte, N.C.-area school district for helping others with special needs, the elderly and others in need.
