An Oklahoma company wants to build the world's largest freestanding communications tower on an Illinois college campus, but aviation officials are worried about the effects on a nearby airport. At 1,500 feet, the structure would be slightly taller than the 110-story Sears Tower. But the FAA says it could pose a safety hazard when pilots at Lake in the Hills Airport are forced to pull up and circle on an aborted landing.
