A coalition of crash victims and safety advocates has sued the DOT and the FAA, claiming that the government is dragging its feet in implementing safety recommendations issued by the National Transportation Safety Board, particularly those related to icing and runway safety. While declining to comment on the lawsuit specifically, FAA spokesman Les Dorr said his agency has to look at the full picture when evaluating NTSB recommendations. "We certainly are not cavalier about any recommendations that board makes. We take them all seriously," he said, noting that the FAA reviews all suggestions -- whether they are "feasible and appropriate" or not -- before making final policy decisions.
