Although magazine circulation generally is withstanding the economic downturn, some celebrity titles and newsmagazines took a hit in the second half of 2008 versus the same period a year earlier, the Audit Bureau of Circulations is reporting. In Touch Weekly's circulation fell 29.3% to 899,000, and Life & Style Weekly dropped 30.7% to 472,000, while Newsweek's sales slipped 13.1%, to 2.7 million, and U.S. News & World Report declined by 22.3%, to under 1.6 million.
