U.S. researchers working on mice identified monoclonal antibodies that can neutralize the H5N1 avian influenza virus, regular seasonal flu and other strains of influenza A viruses. They hope to use the findings to engineer or discover other monoclonal antibodies that can disable six additional flu strains, including the H3N2 strain of seasonal flu in circulation.
