Twitter co-founder Biz Stone sent the world of social media into a tizzy when, in an interview with British trade magazine Marketing, he said, "We are noticing more companies using Twitter and individuals following them. We can identify ways to make this experience even more valuable and charge for commercial accounts." While the possibility of Twitter charging for commercial accounts isn't news for those who've been trying to figure out Twitter's path to profitability, as the folks at Blog Herald point out, it's hardly a sure bet. After all, Twitter isn't the only microblogging service out there and if the pricing isn't right, companies large and small might go elsewhere.
