Some analysts say many chief executive officers of industrial companies may be overly optimistic about the strength of commercial construction in upcoming years. Industrial production in the U.S. is predicted to drop 9.2% in 2009, according to a forecast by the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI. "Manufacturing is not going to come back until consumer durable spending comes back," said Nick Heymann, director of global industrial infrastructure at Sterne Agee.
