Seeking to generate buzz for space tourism, XCOR Aerospace is offering a free space flight to 89-year-old Le Roy Gillead, a World War II aviator who flew with the fabled Tuskegee Airmen. XCOR's Lynx rocket ship won't be ready for lift-off before 2012, and Gillead will be 93 by that time. Still, he says he expects to be up to the challenge, and he seems committed to being the new face of the nascent space tourism industry. "When you are 90 years old, you tend to go along with things," he says.
