AIG CEO Edward Liddy is asking employees who received more than $100,000 in bonus money to repay at least half. AIG executive Douglas Poling has returned his entire bonus of over $6.4 million, the largest sum paid to a single employee. Liddy claims he paid the bonuses to retain employees with the special knowledge needed to dispose of trillions of dollars in toxic securities, though records show that most of the troubled assets were dealt with by the end of 2008.
