Finance industry executives say they may be less likely to join in federal economic-recovery programs after seeing the outrage lawmakers have aimed at American International Group for using public funds to pay executive bonuses. Executives say they're worried that by accepting government aid, they're opening themselves to greater regulation. Firms say the additional rules could hamper their ability to be competitive, adding that companies need to pay bonuses in order to retain top staff.
