The Midtown Miami development attempted to revitalize the Florida city's former railyards, but the project's central entertainment center stalled due to the economic downturn. Many of the condominium units built on the 56-acre tract of land also remain unoccupied. However, the $145 million Shops at Midtown have succeeded in drawing visitors from both Miami and Miami Beach to the neighborhood.
