In an effort to combat terrorism, officials in the U.K.'s Home Office are considering requiring social media services to retain information about all messages sent and received on their servers for up to a year. "We have no way of knowing whether Osama bin Laden is chatting to Abu Hamza on Facebook," a Home Office spokesman said. "Or terrorists could be having a four-way chat on Skype."
