Columnist Richard Earls explains that although the economic downturn is real it is also largely psychological and people are still traveling. Earls advises travel agents to look at the opportunities available, including the "absolutely fantastic travel deals" all over the world. "Good travel agents have a responsibility to themselves and to their clients to work harder than ever during the economic crisis," Earls writes. "When the going gets tough, smart travel agents get smarter."
