In an effort to be a one-stop shop for perishable and non-perishable goods distribution, New Jersey-based distributor Dora's Naturals will invest in high pressure processing machines. Processing for partners will begin in early 2015.
Located between major natural-food markets in Denver and Fort Collins, Colo., Greeley, Colo., will soon be home to two natural-food chains. "Greeley has always been on our radar screen. We've been getting a lot of requests to put a store there," said an official with Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage, which is expected to open its Greeley store in March. Sprouts Farmers Market is set to open a store in the city in April.
Weis is expanding its relationship with Reed's all-natural sodas, putting the brand in 154 stores, up from 50. The drinks also will be moved from the specialty- and natural-foods aisle to the main beverage aisle.
Nicholas D'Agostino III has been named president and chief operations officer of his family's grocery chain. D'Agostino has worked for the company since 1982, first as a store manager and eventually as vice president of corporate administration. He is part of the family-run D'Agostino's third generation of store operators.
