The Texas Transportation Commission last week approved a $2 billion plan to rebuild and expand the LBJ Freeway in Dallas. The plan includes building six toll lanes in a trench dug partially under the freeway. Meanwhile, the plan also calls for replacement of the freeway's existing lanes with four free lanes in each direction and the addition of continuous frontage lanes on each side. Cintra, a toll company based in Spain, is leading the project and could start construction this year.
