Pushing aside, at least for the moment, a risk of deflationary spiral in the U.S., the consumer-price index edged up 0.4% in February, mostly because of the 3.3% increase in energy costs. Bernard Baumohl, managing director of the Economic Outlook Group, said the data mean concerns about deflation "can be set aside right now."
