Despite some grim numbers coming out of the JPMorgan Aviation and Transportation Conference, Delta Air Lines said it still expects to see profits in 2009. "We are expecting this year to be a profitable year," said President Ed Bastian, predicting the turnaround could come as soon as the second quarter. Delta is seeing growth in both revenue and liquidity, Bastian said, in spite of a 14% drop in operating revenue for the first quarter. "It looks like the revenue period is stabilizing. It's not getting worse, from what we've seen," he said.
