The Federal Communications Commission has offered momentum to the next generation of mobile-broadband devices in approving an LG Electronics-powered product of which little is known except that it uses the wireless Long-Term Evolution standard and is not a phone, according to reports. Referred to as "LTE User equipment," the device will transmit in the 1,700-MHz band and receive in the 2,100-MHz band.
