Construction of new toll lanes on Florida's Interstate 595 will take five years to complete and slow the commute time for the more than 180,000 drivers who use the road every day. A Spanish conglomerate will finance, build, and maintain the $1.8 billion project, the most expensive road and bridge project in the state's history. The project will convert 10.5 miles of highway median into three reversible toll lanes.
