Google announced it is working on a plan to connect its on-air TV ad sales business on Google TV with video on YouTube and other Web sites to allow marketers to make cross-platform ad buys. While the search firm has backed away from ventures involving print and radio ad sales, Google reportedly is confident the cross-platform video advertising plan plays to its strengths. The company also announced 200 layoffs in its sales and marketing staff.
