Officials looking into last week's Turkish Airlines crash in the Netherlands said Wednesday that they suspect a faulty altimeter contributed to the incident, in which nine people were killed and more than 80 injured when the plane landed short of an Amsterdam runway. According to preliminary reports from the Dutch Safety Board, the information sent from the radio altimeter to the automatic pilot caused a loss in speed while the plane was preparing to land, and the pilots were unable to gain enough speed to recover from the stall.
