Fast Retailing, which operates more than 800 Uniqlo clothing stores mostly in Japan, is planning to open many cut-rate g.u. clothing stores over the next four and a half years. Tadashi Yanai, CEO of Fast Retailing, said the low-priced clothing chain is getting a boost from the recession. "When salaries don't rise, it's a human inclination to want to buy things as cheaply as possible," Yanai said.
