A study of 896 girls ages 9 to 18 found 50.3% of those who had just started to menstruate, about 36.9% of the entire group, reported headaches during their menstrual period. The researchers said the findings indicate menstrual migraines are sensitive to fluctuations in hormonal levels that can precede menstruation.
