The federal economic-stimulus package includes $300 million for the National Health Service Corps and $200 million to be split between the Nursing Workforce Development Programs and Health Professions Training Programs. Mary Klotz Walker, dean of Loyola's Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing, says some of the money will go toward training people who switch careers to nursing, supporting nursing diversity programs and nurse faculty scholarships.
