Delaware continues to see new businesses emerge and expand, with in excess of 1,400 new license applications filed with the state this year. Last year, Delaware issued 12,602 new business licenses in 2008, 635 fewer than the previous year but still above the state's typical yearly range of 8,000 to 12,000. Five Guys Burgers and Fries is one of the businesses that has continued its expansion in Delaware despite the recession.
