Hundreds of uninsured Oklahoma residents are getting potentially life-saving colonoscopies for free through the state's $500,000 in funding for the Colorectal Cancer Screening Project. Dr. Douglas Foster of Tulsa says the program has resulted in the diagnosis of "a significant number" of cancers and polyps. Patient Craig Duggan says without the free screening he might not have discovered he had colon cancer in time to save his life.
