Chemical output in the U.S. is expected to decline this year even more than expected, with an 8.7% decline now forecast for the year, excluding pharmaceuticals, up from a 3.1% decline previously predicted, according
to the American Chemistry Council. The report follows news of a revised figure for output in 2008, showing a reduction of 6.3%, about twice the group's December estimate.
