Environmental groups and industry representatives are deeply divided over how nanotechnology should be regulated, according to a review of existing nanotechnology legislation. Whereas groups such as Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth call existing regulations inadequate and are pressing for stricter regulations, industry representatives say existing regulations are adequate and they are seeking the development of specific guidance and standards to support implementation of the regulations.
