A Senate panel warned Donald L. Kohn, vice chairman of the Federal Reserve, that he should either identify who received money through the rescue of American International Group or forget about receiving additional taxpayer money for other rescues. "We need to know who benefited, and we're going to find out," said Sen. Richard C. Shelby, R-Ala. "The Fed can be secretive for a while but not forever." Kohn reluctantly said he would ask the other governors to reconsider their position.
