UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown is meeting today with Bank of England Governor Mervyn King, Financial Services Authority Chairman Lord Adair Turner, Trade Minister Mervyn Davies and Chancellor Alistair Darling to discuss implementing financial rules drafted by the Group of 20 leaders last week. Brown also plans to meet with executives from major banks. "Our first priority" is "getting the economy onto a growth path, recognising that it's a global recession and that we have got to cooperate with other countries", Brown said.
