Some Florida legislators are hoping to loosen the class-size requirements being phased in, saying the guidelines are too strict and expensive. The limits, which go into full effect in the 2010-11 school year, restrict classes for the youngest children to 18 students and 25 students for high school. The change being considered would allow classes to exceed those limits by three to five students, depending on the grade level.
