Worldwide spending on IT-related hardware, software, services and telecommunications will decrease 3.8% this year to $3.2 trillion, according to the latest data from Gartner. The finding reverses a more bullish forecast from the research firm just three months ago and, according to Gartner, would represent a bigger IT spending decrease than 2001, the year after the dot-com bubble burst.
