Despite the fact that affordability of housing is at a 38-year high, a survey by the AICPA found that 79% of Americans have no plans to buy or sell a house in the foreseeable future. Of the few who intend to buy or sell, 70% expect they will hold back on their plans for a year or two. "For most Americans, their home is the largest investment they will make in their lifetimes and declining values are a threat to their financial well-being," said the chairman of the AICPA's National CPA Financial Literacy Commission, Carl George.
