State funds and grants from the federal stimulus package will pay for water infrastructure updates in 43 Indiana and 74 Ohio cities and towns. The projects in Indiana will cost $250 million, and $57 million will come from the stimulus package. Columbus, Ind., will receive the largest share of the funds and will replace an aging sewage-treatment plant. Ohio will use $5 million in stimulus funds to build a $15.8 million groundwater system.
