Interpublic Group's McCann Erickson reportedly will handle advertising, promotions, public relations and digital communications for the 2012 Olympics in London. The U.S.-based shop reportedly beat British holding company WPP Group by agreeing to take care of the marketing duties, but not research, which will be handled by a different agency. McCann Erickson also is said to be providing £10 million in donated services, in exchange for being named an official sponsor of the event.
