Southwest Airlines announced Tuesday that service to Boston would begin Aug. 16 -- the carrier's third major new market of 2009, following Minneapolis-St. Paul and New York LaGuardia. Boston service will begin with five flights daily to both Chicago Midway and Baltimore, according to the announcement. The Dallas Morning News notes that the carrier's current schedule is published only through Oct. 30, allowing the possibility that one additional market could be added in November or December.
