Inditex, the largest clothing retailer in Europe, is planning to expand by opening Zara stores in India's fast-growing market. Over the next few years, Inditex plans to open 25 Zara locations in major Indian cities, including Mumbai and New Delhi. "Of course Asia will be affected by the global credit crisis to some extent, but in the long term, it offers great potential for growth, with consumers demanding Western brands," said Greg Hodge, retail research manager at Planet Retail.
