Children without ADHD are more likely to have ADHD-like behavioral outbursts if they lack adequate sleep, according to a Finnish study of 280 healthy children. Children who had less than 7.7 hours of sleep were more likely to be hyperactive, impulsive and score higher on a test of typical ADHD symptoms than children who slept longer. Researchers recommend parents ensure their children get enough sleep to prevent such problems from developing.
