Data from four medical centers showed that clinicians and obstetricians often mistake two blood disorders in pregnant women -- thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura and hemolytic uremic syndrome -- for other conditions, including panic attack, gastroenteritis and hemolysis. Researchers said, "the spectrum of TTP/HUS is a diagnostic challenge that must be triaged methodically."
