A survey shows Americans' confidence in their ability to retire has rapidly eroded during the past two years. The survey of 1,257 Americans by the Employee Benefit Research Institute and Mathew Greenwald & Associates found that 13% were confident they had enough money to comfortably retire, down from 18% last year and 27% in 2007. Only 25% are confident they will be able to cover basic living expenses in retirement, down from 34% last year.
