The EPA says it will accelerate its timetable on the assessment of the effect that dioxins have on human health as it plans for the cleanup of one of the country's largest dioxin-pollution zones. Dow Chemical has taken responsibility for the pollution of a 50-mile section of Lake Huron watershed near a Michigan plant, and EPA head Lisa Jackson said she expects a draft report on a cleanup strategy by the end of the year.
