While lollipops and hard candies have similar formulations, it's only recently that some candy brands have begun to introduce product lines that incorporate both hard candies and lollipops. With the market for hard candy seeing a period of growth, manufacturers are feeling more freedom to expand into more luxurious and innovative offerings.
Perfetti van Melle is introducing extra-large Mentos and brightly colored binoculars that include Chupa Chups lollipop as part of its 2012 travel retail offerings. Also new are sugar-free Mentos chewing gum and a Ballooncar toy packaged with two Chupa Chups lollipops.
Canus Goat's Milk is selling its bulk soap in Whole Foods stores throughout the Southwest and Pacific Northwest, in addition to the Florida locations where it was launched last year. The bars, made with all-natural goat's milk, are offered in scents exclusive to Whole Foods, including Pomegranate and Bamboo, Orange and Clary Sage, Lemon Verbena and Lavender Oil.
Cadbury will relaunch its chocolate products this spring in Australia with a new package design. It will invest millions in an advertising campaign, including point of sale promotions and ads, to support the relaunch.
