Despite the fact that worldwide PC microprocessor shipments fell 10.9% between the fourth quarter of last year and the first quarter of 2009, IDC analysts are convinced that the market is bottoming out, calling the losses "only slightly worse than [a] typical seasonal decline." According to IDC, the market declined 17% between the third and fourth quarters of 2008 and is so far down 13% year-to-year.
