Pilot David Stern uses his Mooney 231 to save lives -- and perhaps to save an industry, as well. Stern has flown some 175 children for much-needed medical care under the Angel Flight program, proving that GA aircraft "aren't all used by 'fat cats,'" according to his flight instructor, David St. George. On Saturday, Stern was among a dozen pilots at his local airport giving rides to children in an effort to promote math and science education.
