A new 34,000-square-foot building at Hawaii's Maui Community College will include a green roof, solar photovoltaic panels and rooftop wind turbines. Approved by the Maui Planning Commission this week, the $26 million science building will generate about 10% of its own power. The green roof will include native grasses and ground cover to reduce stormwater runoff.
