The Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced a plan to complete the Fulton Street Transit Center in New York City by 2014. The transit center, which received $424 million in stimulus funds this year, was originally scheduled for completion in 2007. The city proposed the transit center in 2001 after the World Trade Center terrorist attack to serve as a central terminal for Lower Manhattan.
