A group of international private companies will build a $650 million bridge that will connect North Carolina's mainland Currituck County to its northern Outer Banks. The seven-mile long bridge will be the state's longest and is North Carolina's first construction project that involves a partnership with private companies. The N.C. Turnpike Authority will work with ACS Infrastructure Development and Dragados USA, which are subsidiaries of Spanish companies, on the development of the toll bridge.
