People who don't get a good night's sleep end up consuming 22% more calories than normal the next day, according to a study by the European Centre of Taste Science in Dijon, France. Researchers said sleep deprivation could promote obesity. A separate study from the Netherlands found children who got less sleep once they reached puberty gained more weight than those who had unchanged sleeping patterns.
